ABOUT ANN

Ann practices exclusively in employment law, advocating for a diverse client base that ranges from international corporations and local businesses to senior executives and employees entering their first roles. She represents clients across both the Western Australian State System and the National System.

Ann holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Human Resource Management) from Murdoch University. This dual background allows her to approach legal issues with a practical understanding of workforce management. Whilst studying at Murdoch University, Ann held a position as Secretary for the Murdoch Business Society and travelled to Geneva, Switzerland to participate in the University's Geneva Human Rights Program. Prior to commencing with MKI Legal, Ann volunteered at a community legal centre, primarily within their mediation team.

Ann regularly appears in the Fair Work Commission, the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission, the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, the Magistrates Court, the Industrial Magistrates Court, and the Australian Human Rights Commission.

Ann advises on a range of employment law matters, including but not limited to:

  • Unfair dismissal claims, General Protections claims, and Damaging Action claims.
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
  • Breach of contract and post-employment restraints.
  • Disciplinary processes and performance and conduct management.
  • Redundancy/restructure processes.
  • Discrimination, sexual harassment, bullying, victimization, and psychosocial hazards.
  • Underpayment matters.

Ann is committed to delivering strategic, pragmatic solutions and has successfully negotiated outcomes for clients in complex matters.

Qualifications and Memberships

  • Admitted to the High Court of Australia (July 2021)
  • Admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia (May 2020)
  • Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (HR Management) – Murdoch University (2019)
  • Law Society of Western Australia Member
